HomeNet South Asia (HNSA) is a regional network of home-based workers and their organisations, working across eight South Asian countries to ensure recognition, visibility, and rights for millions of women who earn their livelihoods from their homes.
HNSA promotes advocacy, research, and programmes that strengthen informal workers’ organisations and advance inclusive policies, social protection, and sustainable livelihoods.
With over two million home-based workers represented through its member organisations, HNSA is at the forefront of women’s economic empowerment and labour rights in the region.
Role Overview
The Regional Coordinator will provide overall leadership for HNSA’s strategic, programmatic, and operational work across South Asia.
This is a senior leadership role that combines strategic direction, fundraising, partnership management, and network coordination. The position will lead implementation of HNSA’s regional strategy, strengthen collaboration among affiliates, and represent the organisation at regional and international levels.
The ideal candidate will have strong experience in programme leadership, resource mobilisation, and multi-country coordination, with a deep commitment to gender equity and the rights of informal workers.
Key Responsibilities
1. Fundraising and Partnership Development (Core Priority)
- Lead and implement HNSA’s fundraising strategy, cultivating relationships with foundations, bilateral donors, UN agencies, and CSR partners.
- Identify new funding opportunities aligned with HNSA’s strategic priorities and prepare compelling proposals and concept notes.
- Engage regional and international partners to strengthen multi-country programmes and policy collaborations.
- Work closely with the HNSA Board and Finance Committee to ensure financial sustainability and diversified funding streams.
2. Relationship Management with Affiliates
- Maintain ongoing engagement with HNSA’s affiliate organisations across South Asia.
- Facilitate cross-learning, exchange visits, and joint initiatives among members.
- Promote programmes and advocacy efforts that reflect affiliates’ priorities and strengthen the network’s collective voice.
3. Project and Team Management
- Oversee project implementation and donor reporting, ensuring quality, impact, and compliance.
- Manage and mentor a small, multi-country team, fostering collaboration and accountability.
- Coordinate across programme, communications, and finance functions to ensure cohesive delivery.
4. Governance and Coordination
- Organise and support meetings of the Board of Trustees, Advisory Board, Finance Committee, and HR Committee — including agendas, minutes, and follow-ups.
- Facilitate effective coordination between committees and ensure smooth governance processes.
5. Financial Oversight
- Work with the Finance Team to ensure transparent financial management, compliance, and reporting.
- Support development of annual budgets, donor reports, and financial planning for new proposals.
Qualifications and Experience
- Postgraduate degree in Social Sciences, Development Studies, Economics, Gender, or related field.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in programme management, fundraising, or network coordination, preferably in a regional or multi-country context.
- Proven track record in resource mobilisation, partnership-building, and donor engagement.
- Strong understanding of gender, informal economy, and labour rights in South Asia.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; proficiency in a South Asian language is an asset.
- Ability to travel frequently within the region, and internationally, as required.
